First wax guide

What actually happens

About 15 minutes. Some sting. Totally worth it. We won’t pretend otherwise.

How long does it take?
About 15 minutes. In and out.
Does it hurt?
A quick sting. Most first-timers say it was far less than they’d built up. It gets easier every time.
How long should hair be?
About ¼ inch — a grain of rice. If you can pinch it, we can wax it.
What should I wear?
Loose, comfortable clothes. Skip heavy lotion, oils, and self-tanner the day of.

Before

  • Exfoliate gently 24–48 hours before — not the day of.
  • Go easy on caffeine and alcohol. Both make skin more sensitive.
  • Come in clean and product-free.
  • Tell us about medications, retinoids, or skin conditions when you book.

During

Private room. Time to undress from the waist down. Your specialist walks you through positioning, preps the skin, and removes hair in sections with hard wax. A Brazilian typically covers the front, the bikini line, and between the cheeks. Want a strip, a triangle, or something left behind? Say so before we start — it’s your wax.

Awkward for you? Maybe the first thirty seconds. Normal Tuesday for us.

After

  • Skip hot tubs, saunas, tanning, and hard workouts for 24 hours.
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing the first day.
  • Ease back into gentle exfoliation after 2–3 days.
  • A little redness for a few hours is normal. Results last 4–6 weeks.

When we can’t wax

Accutane now or in the last 6 months — we can’t. Recent chemical peel or laser, retinoids on the area, sunburn, open skin, active cold sores, or a flare of eczema/psoriasis on the area. If you’re unsure, tell us when you book. This is not medical advice.
